This was my final piece from my AS exam, with the chosen question of 'Cross Over'. I created the structure from wood and cardboard, then painting images both inside and outside using acrylics and watercolours with string over the top. It was mainly influenced by Lynn Skordal, Ged Quinn, Banksy, David Ralph and Maurizio Anzeri. These are photographs I took outside of the finished product. Taking approximately 10 hours, the dimensions are 39cm by 27cm by 22cm.

Japan Trip 'What Makes Someone Attractive'
Partaking in a science experiment, I led the project on 'What Makes Someone Attractive'. Combining my love of Art with Science. I looked into three different theories within this idea, taking my own photos and editing them all according to these theories. It was an amazing experience, as not only was I able to go to Japan but it taught me valuable skills of leadership, organisation and teamwork.

Cityscape Photography
From my AS photography exam, I edited these images together from photos I had taken in New York. I wanted them to have elements from my photographer influences, Stephanie Jung, Dan Mountford and Matt Wisniewski. This took around 9 hours to complete.
Paintings of Butterflies
These were all my own photographs I took at Kew Gardens, drawn and then painted using watercolours and brusho inks as well as pen and ink. To the left is an image from my sketch book, using Brusho paints to make it look like they were contained in a box, similar to that of collection boxes and Joseph Cornell's work. What I wanted to focus on with this piece are my painting skills in recreating the paintings as closely to the actual image. This took around 5 hours to complete with the dimensions of the image as a whole being A3.
Flying Girl Photography
This is an image from my A2 coursework for Photography. I took this in the style of Lissy Elle with my project being based around Fairy Tales. This took around 2 hours to complete on Photoshop. To the right is displayed the image I recreated in my own style.
Colourful Chinatown Piece
Hanging, Framed Photography
Influenced mainly by Jerry Uelsmann and Robin Cracknell I made a frame like structure to hang various photographs from. Some being SLR images and other digital; this was my final piece for my GCSE photography exam. All of the images responded to the same theme of memories with different photographer influences. I used different techniques in the darkroom such as layering two images together as you can see in the bottom right hand corner. The dimensions of the overall structure were 1.2 x 1.7 x 0.5 metres .
Plaster Casts of Objects
Working from the influences of Shinohara and Nevelson, I made moulds by pressing wet clay around the objects I eventually wanted to be cast. After I had carefully pulled the objects out I poured plaster into the moulds and painted them using acrylics. This took approximately 7 hours to complete. The sizing of these casts ranged from 3x3cm to 9x9cm.
Inside, Outside and Inbetween Photography
This was photography for the start of my A2 coursework. Working from the title I wanted to explore the physical concept. I used dolls and toy objects such as TV's and sofas then arranging them outside among grass and plants. Afterwards I edited them on Photoshop to look aged and old fashioned in a 'vintage' style by manipulating the colour balance and offset.
Etching Experiments of Skull
This is a page from my sketchbook. Creating an etching on a piece of acetate using a sharp object, I then printed the image onto different textures and surfaces. Such as woven material, Brusho ink backgrounds, translucent sheets of paper and photocopies of my own SLR layering photography you can see at the top. It took 7 hours to complete, the etching itself was 20x20cm and the two pages to the left were A3.
Street View of Japan
This was my final piece for my AS coursework. Using photos I took in Japan I recreated this using various media such as acrylics, wax and pen and ink. As well as venturing out into the 3D with some of the painting being on blocks stuck to the original painting. This took around 15 hours to complete, dimensions are 64x80cm.
Pencil Study
Created using various different pencils and smudger sticks. I worked from an image that I edited together using Photoshop which can be seen next to the piece. This was for my AS exam work. The dimensions are A2 and took around 3.5 hours to complete.
Shinohara Artist Study
This is an image of an in progress piece of work done in acrylics, the dimensions being A3. I wanted to add as much detail as I could, replicating that of the original image. The acrylics enabled me to copy the strong colours and shading with enough detail. Shinohara tends to paint in a delicate style, drawing out each dainty object which I feel I did well. Taking over 10 hours to get to this stage.
Wax Roundabout
Hand Cast
This was part of my A2 coursework. I cast my own hand using plaster to recreate an image I edited together on Photoshop shown here. Displayed is my planning for the piece and an experiment in another media. I then painted onto the surface using acrylics, covering it in varnish to gain a shiny effect. The work at the top were two A3 pages and the hand and the practice were 13x20cm, being life size.
Life Drawings
These are a series of piece I have built up from partaking life drawing classes. The dimensions are all A3. While some of these were quick sketches, others were more detailed pieces. The media includes charcoal, white oil pastel, coloured chalks and ink. My main focus in these were to gain proportion and an element of shadows and highlights in the curves of the human figure.
Tarot Card Photography
This was part of my AS Photography coursework. These three images are in the style of Tarot cards, put together from many different images. It is mainly influenced by David Mckean as I wanted to capture his vibrant yet surreal imagery within my own work.
Surreal Portrait
This is a rather surreal piece from my AS coursework. Here is the original observational pencil drawing from my own images. By photocopying the image twice I cut it into horizontal slices. I rearranged them into an unusual composition and altered each one by different methods. Such as water colour and pen and ink. Dimensions are A3.
Metal Work
I did these in my own time, attending a workshop to experiment with different techniques in metal work, done so around the theme of Fairy Tales. With the fairy outline, I cut out the silhouette on paper then imprinting this onto the surface of a sheet using a press. In the ones with the skeleton, I used an image I edited together then using acid process to burn the image into the metal sheet. I also experimented with shaping and stamping into metal. Finally I brought all of these processes together as well as cutting to create the mushroom piece. Dimensions of each sheet are around 4 x 3 inches.

Escher Art Study
This piece was an artist study of Escher's work, A3 sized. I used a fine black pen in a pointillism style to achieve strong contrast between light and dark, aiming to use no lines at all. By using varying concentrations of dots I was able to form different shades which was key in this piece, taking around 6 hours to complete.
